About Diapulse
Decades of science. One mission.“Helping the body heal itself.”
Diapulse has been at the forefront of non-invasive healing technology for over 60 years, building a legacy grounded in rigorous clinical research published in leading medical journals worldwide.
“Keep the healing signal, lose the burn.”
— The 1934 breakthrough that made Diapulse possible
OUR ORIGIN
A formula from Einstein.
A problem no one else could solve.
In the 1930s, physician Abraham Ginsberg and physicist Arthur Milinowski set out to fix a fatal flaw in diathermy: it could only heal by generating heat, and heat destroys tissue. In 1934, Ginsberg found the answer—pulse the energy. Keep the healing signal, lose the burn.
The mathematical formula behind that pulse came from his friend and neighbor, Albert Einstein.
Ginsberg presented the work to the New York Academy of Medicine. But the same high-frequency science was also powering radar for the U.S. military, so commercialization waited until after the war. When it returned, Ginsberg and Dr. Jesse Ross brought it to market, manufactured worldwide by Remington Rand. The press called it the future of medicine.
OUR MISSION
We believe the body has the power to heal itself.
Diapulse was founded on a simple but profound insight: the human body is as much electrical as it is chemical. By working with the body’s own bioelectric processes, not against them, we can stimulate and accelerate natural healing in ways that drugs and surgery cannot.
That belief has driven every device we’ve built, every study we’ve funded, and every patient who has experienced faster recovery, reduced pain, and better outcomes because of Diapulse therapy.
“The body is as much electrical as it is chemical.”

OUR SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION
Backed by decades of research published in medical journals around the world.
Diapulse isn’t a new idea chasing a trend. It is the culmination of over six decades of scientific and clinical investigation, a body of evidence that sets it apart from every other PEMF device on the market.

OUR HISTORY
A legacy built on clinical proof
Diapulse has been at the forefront of non-invasive healing technology for over 60 years, born from a formula Albert Einstein helped shape and proven in decades of rigorous clinical research published in leading medical journals worldwide.
- 1934
The pulse that changed everything
Dr. Abraham Ginsberg solves diathermy’s heat problem by pulsing radio frequency energy — using a formula developed with his friend and neighbor, Albert Einstein. Presented to the New York Academy of Medicine.
- 1964
Deployed at Fisher Body Division, General Motors
Diapulse was brought into one of the largest industrial facilities in the country to accelerate worker injury recovery, running nearly around the clock.
“The Diapulse machine runs about 16 hours out of every 24, in our plant… it speeds up resolution of injuries by 3 to 5 days, conservatively speaking.”
- 1960s
Challenged in court — and vindicated
A larger rival labels the technology “quackery.” Diapulse challenges the claim in court and wins, with physicians testifying under oath that it worked exactly as promised, without heat.
- 1967
President Truman tried Diapulse — and bought his own
After experiencing Diapulse therapy firsthand, President Harry S. Truman was convinced enough to purchase his own device. A head-of-state endorsement that has never needed embellishment.
- 1968–1976
Three consecutive Olympic Games
Diapulse became the recovery device of choice at the Mexico City, Munich, and Montreal Olympics. Olympic teams from over 30 countries acquired their own devices, making Diapulse a fixture in elite athletic performance for nearly a decade.
- 1972
Treatment of Secretariat
The greatest racehorse in history was treated with Diapulse. When the standard of care for a Triple Crown champion includes your device, the efficacy speaks for itself.
- 1970–1987
Banned, fought, and vindicated again
U.S. regulators ban the device in the 1970s — not over safety, but skepticism that healing could happen this fast. What follows is a 15-year legal battle. In 1987, a federal judge rules the ban “arbitrary and capricious,” lifts it, and orders the agency to showcase the technology at its own conference. The military never stopped using it throughout.
- 1989
Featured at FDA Conference on Emerging Electromagnetic Medical Technology
Diapulse was recognized by the FDA as a leading example of electromagnetic medical innovation, placing the device at the center of the national conversation on the future of non-invasive therapy.
- 1991
Recognized in the Journal of Insurance Medicine
Diapulse’s clinical effectiveness was formally recognized in the Journal of Insurance Medicine, Vol. 23, No. 2 — an indication that the medical and financial communities alike were taking notice of the outcomes data.
- 1991
Endorsed by Mutual Benefit Life Insurance after treating 1,000 employees
After Diapulse was used to successfully treat 1,000 of its own employees, Mutual Benefit Life Insurance formally endorsed the technology, a powerful signal that outcomes were measurable, consistent, and cost-effective.
- Today
Reborn as Diapulse Technologies
Under Ron Peri, Diapulse enters a new era — renewed investment in research and development, new products in development, and a mission to make PRFE therapy a cornerstone of modern practice.
